Zina Alston Fizer

Program Director

Zina Alston Fizer was born, raised and lives in Minneapolis, MN.


First graduating Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Communications she went on to receive a master’s degree in Advocacy and Political Leadership from Metropolitan State University in St Paul, MN. 


Zina is a former democratic candidate for Minnesota Senate in Senate District 44.  She is extremely passionate about human rights, diversity, equity and inclusion.  Her mantra is “we all do better, when we all do better”.  


Professionally, Zina is a private consultant, small business owner and has aspirations of becoming the first Black woman to become a senator for the state of Minnesota. Her goal is to change people’s lives through equitable legislation and policy.


Her crown of glory is she’s the mother of three adult children, grandmother of four and great grandmother of one.
